2018 is going to be the year of travel. Already many celebrities have flocked to both snow covered alps and tropical locations like Brazil and other hot countries, which is perfect for travel inspiration for your holiday next year. With luxurious hotels, mouth-watering food and gorgeous weather, it is understandable why these ideal locations have become the places where A-listers such as Kim Kardashian and the Beckhams head for their holidays. But, you don't need to be a multimillionaire to go on holiday where your favourite celebrities have been, and there are alternatives to the crazy locations for your celeb-inspired holiday (Instagram-worthy shots included!)
Dubai is crazily popular among celebrities and has become an A-lister hot spot with visitors including Kim Kardashian, the Beckhams, Rita Ora and Kelly Brooks. It is the perfect city break destination for any time of year, with year-round summer weather, white beaches and its luxury resorts with 5 star ratings from the likes of Kim Kardashian and her mum, Kris Jenner who stayed at the five-star Atlantis Palm Resort in the extravagant Bridge Suite earlier this year.
The thing is that Dubai can be as affordable as your standard Brit holiday to Ibiza or Brittany, if you budget it right and don't mind staying in the lower cost hotels. This isn't to say it's the cheapest holiday, but it is a lot more accessible than most people would expect.
For a budget Dubai holiday here are my recommended places to visit:
Movenpickn Battuta Gate Hotel - Approx. £245 per night Ib
Stay at a 5* luxury hotel, that is walking distance from Ibn Battuta Shopping Mall and the Dubai Metro, with easy access to Dubai’s top attractions, at an amazing value for money price. The hotel's 396 rooms and suites are inspired by the extraordinary 14th century travels of the Arab explorer Ibn Battuta. With a roof top pool, a state of the art gym and spa along side intricate design details complemented by fast free WiFi, you are guaranteed to enjoy your stay at one of Dubai's best hotels.
Sheraton Dubai Creek Hotel & Towers - Approx. £150 per night
The Sheraton Dubai Creek Hotel is very family friendly, and perfect for families with teenagers. With luxury rooms at an affordable and amazing price. Within walking distance of several popular malls and restaurants, including the City Center Mall Diera, with free WiFi and a gorgeous pool, you can sit back, relax and enjoy Dubai in all it's glory.
Flora Grand Hotel - Approx. £115 per night
Although the Flora Grand Hotel is a budget family hotel, it still has plenty of opportunities and features which makes it so popular for families in comparison to Dubai's other hotels. With each room in Flora Grand Hotel offering plenty of space for a maximum comfort, I am sure you will love your stay here.
Cu-Ba Latin Restaurant
Although the restaurant and bar is limited to those 21 years and above, waiting a few years to visit Dubai's Cu-Ba rooftop bar is more than worth the wait as the panoramic views over the glittering city of Dubai is anything but boring.
Led by Michelin-starred chef Vineet Bhatia, Indego is an award-winning Indian restaurant in Dubai, with all the popular Indian dishes you know and love. Indego conjures the textures, time-honored traditions and cooking methods of India and Dubai combined, mixing the flavors and smells into gorgeous banquets.
Dubai has endless opportunities and experiences, whether you want to shop, sunbathe or do something a little more adventurous.
Kayak Tour of Palm Jumeirah by SeaYou
Venture out on brand new kayaks on a two and a half hour guided adventure tour around the famous Palm Jumeirah, an extraordinary man-made island just off the white sand beaches of Dubai.
Virtual Gaming Two Hour Session
Experience the latest virtual reality technology in real time while playing your favorite VR games – from a first hand perspective – like never before as you play the role of your favourite heroes (or even villains) from inside the games.
At The Top - Burj Khalifa
The Burj Khalifa is not only the world's tallest building but also one of the world's most iconic and famous, and you can ascend it via the 10 meter per second elevator and get 360 degree views of the city below from At The Top, Burj Khalifa, an observation deck located on the iconic skyscraper’s 124th and 125th levels.
It is clear how many opportunities and experiences Dubai has to offer. Book your holiday there today! Note - Many travel companies offer all-inclusive and budget holidays to Dubai so do some research before booking as you may be able to book a holiday that is a lot cheaper than anticipated.
